Shamal Ratnayake  is a yogi and teacher who grew up as a Buddhist monk in Sri Lanka. He has spent his life exploring the depths of consciousness through yogic practices by developing and refining his awareness and breath.  After moving to the US, Shamal continued his passion for helping others through facilitating inner transformation as a breath work instructor and meditation teacher.

Yana Goncharenko  ’s interest in training and nutrition began in 2011. After immersing herself into a daily yoga practice with Yoga District, she was inspired to deepen her practice and became RYT-200 certified yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance. Over the years, Yana has applied her discipline and focus to creating a practice suitable for all levels and all people. Yana has spent time in Guatemala and Mexico where she about the versatility of yoga practice and how to share her experiences with future students. As a teacher, Yana focuses on alignment and balance, coupled with building flexibility and strength. Her personal training and nutrition background allow her to design the ultimate program for any student. In any practice, everyone is both a teacher and a student. She continues to seek out experiences that deepen her own practices and enhance what she can share with the community.  Namaste!

Titus Smith  is Praktika's therapeutic licensed massage therapist! He focuses on providing massage therapy services to local chiropractors and area businesses! He is passionate about encouraging clients to be active participants in their healing process. Titus believes in balancing the mind, body and spirit through breathing techniques and therapeutic touch. His main goal as a therapist is to provide a rejuvenating and healing environment while helping clients to achieve better health through the healing art of massage.

My goal as a teacher is to encourage others to express themselves with grace and wisdom through asana. Yoga practice changes understanding of the world and removes obstacles in our paths – if one makes time for commitment. Learning to stay present through awareness is truly a gift worth sharing!

Nicole believes yoga is the answer to a hectic lifestyle. She completed her RYT 200 Teacher Training and 50 Hour Extensions program through CorePower Yoga. She believes yoga is for everyBODY and wants a safer space for different types of bodies, backgrounds and attitudes! As an Art Historian you can usually find her in a museum or art gallery. Things that make her happy; animals, positivity, great food, sunshine, quatrefoils, ferris wheels and the “Self-Help” section of the bookstore.

Sally  Sally stepped into her first yoga class in Iran,in 2001 and left feeling incredibly joyful. Since then she’s been practicing yoga on and off her mat. Practice of yoga inspired her to be more mindful in every aspect of her life, after experiencing tremendous loss and trauma, Sally looked into healing all aspects of her being through holistic medicine. She believes in using her education in eastern medicine to improve community dynamics and each student’s one on one relationship with their body. Sally uses essential oils and meditation in her classes to facilitate healing and enhance the traditional yoga experience  She is passionate about sharing her practice to help others live a more mindful life, as she started the journey of self-awareness by bringing philosophy of yoga to her life.
